| The XL Social Enterprise Accreditation Programme (SEA) is
a simple yet incredibly powerful global initiative to recognise
businesses that exist for a greater good. The four key objectives of
the programme are to: |
| |
| Set a standard for Social Enterprise |
| Social Enterprise are defined as companies donating at least 10% of its annual
pre-tax profits to a nominated Non-Profit Organisation. The SEA programme sets a
standard for social enterprises and promotes the causes that they support.
Various initiatives, including the Global Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award
provide international promotion and recognition of all programme participants. |
| |
| Achieve the Billion Dollar Challenge |
| Our goal is to achieve a combined $1 Billion of annual profit from participating
enterprises, resulting in $100 Million in annual donations to non-profits through
social enterprise. We have set annual targets towards reaching this goal by 2020.
All participating companies contribute towards these shared goals. |
| |
| Provide consumers with a trusted certification |
| In the future, having a business purpose which extends beyond the delivery
of goods, services and profits will become increasingly important. The SEA Programme certification logo will becoming a globally recognised sign, allowing
consumers and stakeholders to identify your business as a Social Enterprise. |
| |
| Provide Non-Profit Organisations with ongoing support |
We envisage a future in which non-profits will receive more funds from social
enterprises than from traditional fund raising activities. The SEA Programme is
enabling Non-Profits to tap into a stream of ongoing financing and resources from
the social enterprises that support them.
There is a growing movement towards purpose-driven enterprises that exist as a
force for good. As part of this movement, the SEA Programme is a significant driver
towards social and environmental change. With our collective entrepreneurial
spirit, we have the power to accelerate progress towards two global imperatives:
reversing environmental degeneration and making poverty history. |
